How to be involved – every little helps and everyone can make a difference!
As a parent or carer of a child or children attending the school you are automatically a member of the Melrose Primary Parent Forum. You are welcome to attend any of the Parent Council meetings to find out what the Parent Council do and see if you’d like to be involved.
These will take place on the first Wednesday of every month from 6.30pm to 8pm starting from September 2008. The meetings are an opportunity to raise issues of concern or interest to you, help shape the development of the school and your child’s learning and to find out more about the school.
If committee meetings are not for you, there are a number of other ways you can participate in the Parent Council, as follows:
- Join one the small sub groups looking at either fundraising, working with the local community or home and schools partnership
- Support the events run at the school throughout the year, by coming along and joining in the fun!
- Buy raffle tickets and you may win a prize if you are lucky
- Contribute gifts, raffle prizes, cakes etc to events
- Volunteer to help at selected events, school activities or outings
- Help organise one or more of the annual events
Join the 100 Club
Any offer of help is always much appreciated. It is through your collective effort that the Parent Council can continue to be successful. The ongoing support from the local community and local businesses through donations, prizes and the loan of equipment has contributed to this success. Click here to find out more.
